SMA Actuator Build Process

Six individual U-loop SMA actuators: 0.02” diameter SMA wires
Mechanically in parallel, electrically in series
Each actuator has a tuned overstress protection switch that removes power from entire circuit if any actuator is in overstress
7mm stroke, 112# force
~2 amps at +24 volts DC
Can be powered up to 27-28 vdc if you power for only ~1-2 seconds
Wait about 20-30 seconds between actuations for cooling due to thick SMA wire
